I am starting to see some leaves fall on the ground here in South Carolina, but I am desperately holding onto summer. I love the summer heat and hate the cold, can you relate? With that said, I wanted to get one final summer ice cream recipe out, before diving into fall/winter recipes. I have been so excited about this recipe for so long, because it’s one of my childhood favorites. Previously I have talked about how my family was an ice cream obsessed family, so making a healthy vegan superman ice cream recipe was a must. All summer I have been working on vegan ice cream recipes, and there are plenty of other less labor intensive ice cream recipes on my blog that I absolutely love!
My favorite whole foods plant based ice cream recipes:
How to natural color vegan ice cream with plant based superfoods:
I have always loved eating colorful sweets. Funfetti cake? I’ll take 2 slices please! Superman Ice Cream? It’s going down! As much as I love these colors, they unfortunately do not love me. Artificial colors are one of the most toxic ingredients out there, and they’re in everything! Once I realized how horrible these artificial colorings were for our health I swore them off. For the longest time I just went on without these fun colorful recipes that I loved for so long. It wasn’t until I discovered Rawnice Superfoods that I started making these fun colorful treats again! I love making recipes using Rawnice products, because not only do they add the fun colors, but they’re made from superfoods so they give the ultimate nutritional boost! As always, my code “NATURALVEGAN15” gets you 15% off your entire purchase!
What makes this Vegan Superman Ice Cream healthy?
There are a ton of Superman ice cream recipes out there. What makes this recipe so different? It’s simple: clean ingredients. What does clean mean? In my books, clean means all natural, and all natural means from the earth! Hence the name of my blog, everything here is an all natural recipe. This vegan superman ice cream is made with unprocessed healthy ingredients and superfoods like: blue spirulina, pink pitaya, and yellow curcumin. Therefore this recipe is not only free of all the junk, but full of health promoting ingredients.
Can I make this vegan superman ice cream recipe without an ice cream maker?
Yes and no. Here’s the thing: If you make this recipe without an ice cream maker it will be very time consuming, but it can be done. If you’re committed to your plant based health journey I would recommend you to two kitchen appliances that I use all the time: a Vitamix and an Ice cream maker. I honestly use my Vitamix at least twice a day (I’m not even kidding). It has honestly changed my life, and I could not recommend it enough. You will need a high speed blender for this recipe, so I would definitely recommend investing in a Vitamix.
I would also recommend an Ice Cream Maker, but only if you are truly committed to making whole foods plant based ice cream at home. There are plenty of vegan ice cream companies out there, but they’re not the healthiest. Recipes like this vegan superman ice cream turn out way better if you’re using an ice cream maker. I also love using an ice cream maker for making super thick smoothie bowls for #smoothiebowlsaturday
