This homemade macadamia milk is easy to make with just a few wholesome ingredients like raw macadamia nuts, dates, sea salt, vanilla, and filtered water. Plus, it's loaded with monounsaturated fats and essential nutrients that support heart health, weight management, and even offers an excellent source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

There's something so satisfying about creating your own dairy-free milk at home, and this macadamia milk tastes incredible and has the most creamy texture. If you've ever tried a store-bought version, you may have noticed ingredients like gellan gum, sunflower lecithin, guar gum, calcium phosphate, or even added sugar. Not to mention "natural flavors" and "pea protein" that sometimes leave a strange aftertaste. When you make homemade milk, like my Pistachio Milk or Pumpkin Seed Milk, to name a few, you'll never go back to store-bought. Every sip is just pure, clean ingredients, with an ultra-creamy consistency, and you can even save money by buying your ingredients in bulk.

If there is one investment I highly recommend for everyone who loves juicing on a regular basis and making the freshest alternative milk at home, then it's getting a  Kuvings Auto10 Plus. Ever since I've gotten mine, I've used it almost daily, from making plant-based milk like this recipe or nutrient-rich cold-pressed juices like this Refreshing Cantaloupe Juice to keep me hydrated and energized.

Ingredients To Make Homemade Macadamia Milk:

Here's everything you'll need for this creamy non-dairy milk.

  • Macadamia Nuts: They're known for their naturally high fat content and smooth, rich flavor, which creates that luxurious, creamy consistency without the need for dairy or added oil. Plus, they're a great source of monounsaturated fats and essential nutrients. Use any extras to make my Double Macadamia Nut White Chocolate Cookies.
  • Medjool Dates: These naturally sweet gems add a caramel-like flavor and rich sweetness without any added sugar. They're also a great source of fiber, essential minerals, and help create a smooth, cohesive texture in the milk.
  • Sea Salt: It balances and enhances the flavor beautifully.
  • Vanilla Bean Powder or Vanilla Extract: I'm adding it for that hint of warmth and sweetness like in my Homemade Hazelnut Milk.
  • Filtered Water: Used for both soaking and blending to achieve the best creamy texture.

See the recipe card for quantities.

How To Make It:

Let me show you how easy it is to make this milk with a Kuvings AUTO10 Plus juicer.

  • 1. Soak: In a large bowl, soak raw macadamia nuts and pitted dates in filtered water for 2-4 hours at room temperature to soften and enhance their flavor. Don't throw away the soaking water.
  • 2. Juice: Add the soaked nuts, dates, and soaking water to your Kuvings AUTO10 Plus. Add sea salt and vanilla extract.
  • 3. Store or Enjoy: Enjoy or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Shake well before each use for the best creamy texture.

Top Tips:

  • Use Filtered Water: For the cleanest taste, use filtered water to soak the nuts and dates. You're going to reuse it to make the milk.
  • Use Soaking Water: Once the nuts and dates have softened, the soaking water is packed with natural sweetness and nutrients, making it perfect to blend right into the milk.
  • Save The Pulp! Add leftover pulp to smoothies, baked goods, or oatmeal for extra fiber and a light nutty flavor-nothing is wasted. Or blend them into my Vegan Matcha Pancakes.

Variations And Substitutions:

  • For a Thicker Milk: Use less water during blending.
  • Various Versions: Blend in a little cinnamon or a dash of cardamom for a warm, cozy variation.
  • Swap Vanilla Extract: Try almond extract for a different flavor profile.
  • Want It Sweeter: Stir in some maple syrup.

Storage:

Store your homemade macadamia nut milk in an airtight container or glass jar in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for 4-5 days. Always give it a good shake before using, since natural separation is completely normal. For the best flavor and creamy consistency, enjoy it within the first few days.

Equipment Needed:

  • Kuvings AUTO10 Plus Juicer: For the creamiest, smoothest results without straining.
  • Large Bowl: For soaking the nuts and dates.
  • Airtight Container or Glass Jar: To store your milk and keep it fresh.

Recipe FAQs:

How does macadamia milk taste?

It's buttery, creamy, and lightly sweet, and truly unlike any other non-dairy milk.

Is macadamia milk healthy?

Yes! It's an excellent source of monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids, plus it's naturally dairy-free and free from animal products.

Can I use it in hot drinks?

Absolutely. It's amazing in morning coffee, matcha, or any hot drink. Just warm gently over medium-low heat before adding.

Can I make this with a blender and a nut milk bag?

Yes! If you don't have a juicer, you can use a high-speed blender. Just blend the soaked nuts, dates, soaking water, sea salt, and vanilla until completely smooth. Then strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. But, I highly recommend the Kuvings AUTO10 Plus Juicer for the silkiest texture and best results, especially if you're planning to make milk at home more regularly.

Can I freeze it?

You can, but it may separate when thawed. It's best enjoyed fresh within a few days for the creamiest consistency.

Can I make this milk unsweetened?

Absolutely. Simply omit the dates for an unsweetened version. It will still have a naturally mild, buttery flavor.
