With just 5 simple ingredients, you can make your own homemade hazelnut milk that has the creamiest texture and wonderful flavor. This plant-based milk is a delicious treat that is so simple to make yet so rewarding.
Ever since I got my Kuvings Auto10 Plus Juicer, I've made good use of it by making tons of cold press juices like my Carrot Beet Juice or Liver Cleansing Detox Juice. But nothing is more rewarding than making your own homemade nut milk. Store-bought versions often lack a fresh, nutty flavor and tend to include additives or sweeteners. But with raw hazelnut milk, you not only get to control the ingredients to suit your taste buds, but it also has the freshest taste and creamiest texture and is simply addictive.
Plus, it's a great addition to hot cocoa, smoothies like my Healthy Chocolate Banana Smoothie, or hazelnut lattes. Or simply add it to your morning oats or baked goods like my Vegan Chocolate Chip Baked Oats. The options are endless, and once you try this hazelnut milk recipe, you'll skip store-bought milk for good! Let's make it, shall we?

How To Make Them:
It's so easy to make with a Kuvings Auto10 Plus Juicer. And even if this is your first time, you'll see it's an easy feat.
- Soak Hazelnut & Dates: Cover the whole hazelnuts and dates with water in a large enough bowl and soak overnight to soften them and enhance their creamy taste.
- Make Milk: Add all the ingredients to the Kuvings Auto10 Plus Juicer hopper. Slowly pour in the water and remaining water from soaking the nuts and dates. Let the juicer work its magic, extracting smooth, creamy homemade nut milk.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pour the delicious homemade hazelnut milk into a mason jar or large jar. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 4 days. Enjoy with your morning cup of coffee or tea, or use it to replace any plant milk.
Top Tips:
The whole process is easier than buying store-bought hazelnut milk, but I do have a few tips for you that I know you will like.
- Leftover Pulp: If preferred, you can save any leftover hazelnut pulp. Leave it to dry on a baking sheet and turn it into a hazelnut meal for baking, or add it to your morning meals or snacks, like these Gluten-Free Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies.
- Adjust Sweetness: For sweeter milk, add a drizzle of maple syrup or any other sweetener of your choice.
- Don't Throw Away Soaking Water: Use the water in which the rinsed hazelnuts and dates have soaked to add to the juicer. That water is deliciously sweet in itself and will add a great flavor to the milk.
Variations And Substitutions:
There are a few things you can do to change things up and make this creamy hazelnut milk your own. Here are a few of my suggestions.
- Substitute Vanilla Bean: You can substitute with a splash of vanilla extract if needed.
- Roasted Hazelnut Milk: Roast the raw hazelnuts on a baking sheet for 8-10 minutes at 350°F for a deeper, richer hazelnut flavor.
- Make a Healthy Milk Chocolate: Blend with cacao powder for luscious vegan chocolate hazelnut milk. It's delicious!
Storage:
Store your homemade nut milk in a sealed mason jar or bottle in the fridge for up to 4 days. Shake well before serving, as separation is natural.
Equipment Needed:
- Juicer or Blender: Kuving’s AUTO10 Plus Juicer or high-powered blender to make the milk.
- Large Bowl: To soak the nuts and dates.
- Fine Mesh Sieve or Nut Milk Bag: To extract the milk if you don't have a juicer.
- Mason Jar or Large Jar: For storage.
Recipe FAQs:
Yes! Hazelnut milk is a nutritious, plant-based alternative to dairy milk. It’s rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals while being naturally lactose-free.
Absolutely. This homemade nut milk is free of preservatives and added sugars, making it a great addition to a balanced diet vegan or not. Plus, hazelnuts are a good source of Vitamin E and antioxidants.
I highly recommend a Kuving’s AUTO10 Plus Juicer, especially if you plan to make your own nut milk recipes regularly, and cold-pressed juices like my Juice For Bloating or Alkaline Green Juice to maintain a healthy diet. However, you can also blend the ingredients in a high-speed blender and strain using a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. It won't extract as much milk as with a juicer, but it's still a great alternative option.
