I am so excited to share today's Cookies and Cream Overnight Oats. Cookies and cream is one of my favorite flavors of all time and oatmeal is my favorite breakfast food. Therefore it only makes sense that I create a cookies and cream oatmeal recipe! These oats taste just like an Oreo, and the recipe is so easy you'll be making them daily.
Best Plant Based Protein For Overnight Oats:
The key ingredient to these cookies and cream overnight oats just happens to be the very thing that makes them high in protein. If you know me then you know how much I love PlantFusion protein powders.
PlantFusion is my go-to for so many reasons. First, their flavor is superior to any other plant based protein. For example their cookies and cream flavor that I used in this recipe tastes just like a an Oreo cookie. I love all of their flavors, but this particular flavor has to be one of my top picks. It's impossible not to love cookies and cream!
The second reason I am obsessed with all things PlantFusion is because they use simple and clean ingredients. Whenever I am buying anything that has been processed it is very important to me that it is made with real healthy ingredients. Thankfully PlantFusion has their Purity Promise which states their products are: free of dairy, soy, rice, eggs, nuts, fish, tree nuts, shellfish, artificial flavors and colors, and are gluten-free, vegan, and NON-GMO.
Last, but not least is what is included in PlantFusion protein powders. For example the Cookies and Cream Complete Protein used in this recipe is packed full of nutrient dense ingredients. It has added digestive enzymes, algae, superfoods, and is full of amino acids.
You may be thinking with all these ingredients the powder may be grainy. However PlantFusion protein is incredibly smooth and cream - perfect for this cookies and cream oatmeal! As always my PlantFusion discount code: "NATURALVEGAN" gets you 25% off your entire purchase!
How To Make Creamy Cookies And Cream Overnight Oats:
The key to making these overnight oats cookies and cream flavored is incorporating the creamy aspect. Although the PlantFusion protein powder adds the classic Oreo flavor, these oats still need the creamy aspect.
The creamy aspect is actually very simple. First, make sure you are using the right type of plant based milk. Whenever I am making overnight oats, my go-to is always unsweetened soy milk. I like soy milk for this cookies and cream oatmeal especially, because I find the flavor to be less overpowering.
Next is the creamy filling aspect that give these Oreo oats the familiar look. This part of the recipe is super important, because it adds to the flavor and not just the look. The creamy filling is simply just plant based yogurt. I strongly recommend using a quality coconut yogurt. I'll leave my brand suggestions towards the end of this post.
Why Make These Cookies And Cream Overnight Oats For Weight Loss:
Meal prepping healthy breakfasts can be one of the best healthy habits to pick up for sustainable weight loss. Overnight oats are one of the most simple and best breakfast recipes to meal prep for weight loss. However I see a lot of overnight oats recipes that are loaded with calorically dense ingredients. These are not good for weight loss. However there's a couple tricks to making these cookies and cream overnight oats for weight loss.
First, add chia seeds! Chia seeds can expand up to 12 times their original size. Therefore when you add chia seeds to your oats and add lots of water, you will become more full all while eating less calories. You will want to add a lot of water (you will almost feel like you're adding too much). Make sure to stir it well. I like to make mine and then set aside and stir again after 15 minutes.
Next add flaxseed. Flaxseed works a lot like chia seeds and hold more liquid and is high in protein. Flaxseed also contains an incredible amount of nutrients. These nutrients are good for heart health and can balanced blood sugar levels.
Last, but not least, make sure that you are making foods you actually enjoy eating! It's never worth sacrificing the foods you like to lose weight (unless of course your health is at serious risk). That's why recipes like this cookies and cream overnight oatmeal are perfect. You will feel like this is dessert for breakfast, because it is so good!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Can You Make Oreo Oatmeal Without Oreo's?
Since this Oreo oatmeal is a healthy oatmeal recipe, I left out the Oreos. How do you get that signature crunch in this recipe? Cacao nibs! I love adding cacao nibs to my overnight oats, because it holds a nice texture. However it's not the hard bitter crunch that cacao nibs typically have. If you've ever had a fresh cacao pod before it's very similar to that.
