Make the viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberries at home-the healthy way-with this easy recipe. Layers of juicy strawberries, nutty cream, and decadent chocolate ganache come together to create over-the-top chocolate strawberry cups that feel every bit indulgent, but with a homemade spin you can feel good about. It's a dessert that delivers that same wow-factor using real, whole food ingredients-and the kind of flavor that has people asking for seconds. And thirds.
As someone who writes about food-and spends a little too much time on TikTok (guilty)-I couldn't resist recreating the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup at home. But I wanted a version that looked just as stunning, tasted even better, and used simple, high-quality ingredients, similar to my Vegan Dubai Chocolate Brownies.
I also needed it to deliver that satisfying texture and flavor combo that hits every craving in one bite. The secret? The silkiest pistachio butter from none other than Wilderness Poets-an ultra-creamy, dreamy spread that takes this dessert to another level.
The first time I made this for friends, it disappeared in under five minutes. It's got that amazing crunch, layers of sweetness, and the irresistible mix of pistachio cream, melted chocolate, and juicy strawberries. Basically, it's a chocolate-covered strawberry turned into a full-blown layered dessert. Trust me-it's a keeper.

Ingredients To Make Viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberries:
Here's what makes this layered dessert so crave-worthy, and as always, I'll leave links to my favorite brands that I know you will love too.
- Fresh Strawberries: Juicy and naturally sweet, they're the perfect tart base to balance the richness. Dice them so they layer easily.
- Pistachio Butter: This is where the magic happens. For extra wow-factor, I use Wilderness Poets Extra Creamy Pistachio Butter. It's smooth like silk-no exaggeration-and made from just raw pistachios. It's a melt-in-your-mouth nut butter that simply tastes divine and makes this Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Dessert extra special. Use it to also make my Viral Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Bar Recipe.
- Shredded Phyllo Dough: Also known as kataifi, this Middle Eastern pastry dough gets golden brown and crispy when toasted. You can find it in most Middle Eastern grocery stores or specialty sections.
- Vegan Butter: Helps toast the phyllo to perfection. I love using a cashew-based one for extra creaminess. But use what you have on hand.
- Chopped Pistachios: For garnish and crunch!
- Cacao Paste or Dark Chocolate Chips: The heart of the chocolate sauce. Choose unsweetened if using maple crystals.
- Full-Fat Coconut Milk: Use only the solid cream layer for that luscious ganache texture. You can use the rest to make my Magic Mushroom Smoothie.
- Maple Crystals: Optional, but they add depth and sweetness if using unsweetened chocolate.
- Vanilla Extract: Brings it all together.
See the recipe card for quantities.
How To Make Them:
It is truly super easy to make, yet this dessert looks so luxurious. Here's what to do.
- Toast the Kataifi: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and toast the shredded phyllo until golden brown and fragrant. Let it cool slightly, then mix in the pistachio butter until fully coated. This becomes your creamy, nutty crunch layer.
- Make the Ganache: In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate with the coconut cream. Stir in maple crystals (if using) and vanilla until smooth, glossy, and drizzle-ready.
- Assemble the Dessert: In a clear glass bowl, trifle dish, or individual cups, layer strawberries, the phyllo-pistachio mix, and chocolate ganache. Repeat the layers once more, then top with chopped pistachios.
- Serve: Serve immediately for a warm-and-cool contrast, or chill for a firmer, trifle-like texture.
Top Tips:
As always, even with a super simple recipe, I've a few tips for you to make this the best Dubai chocolate strawberries dessert.
- Dice The Fruit: Dice your strawberries small so they layer well and don't overpower each bite.
- Cool The Toasted Phyllo: Make sure the kataifi is fully cooled before mixing it with the pistachio butter.
- Cool The Ganache: It thickens as it cools, but only cool slightly for easy drizzling.
Variations And Substitutions:
I so encourage you to make this recipe as-is first. I promise, it's delightful, and the flavors and texture are worth every bite. But just in case, I have some suggested variations and substitutions for you if you want to change things up.
- Fruits: Swap strawberries for raspberries or chopped cherries for a twist.
- No Phyllo: Use crushed graham crackers or crisped rice cereal for crunch (not traditional, but fun and can work).
- Try a Different Nut Butter: If you're not a pistachio fan, you can try almond butter or hazelnut spread, especially if you have leftovers from making my Creamy Hazelnut Steel-Cut Oats (but it won't taste quite the same).
- For Extra Flair: Garnish with edible gold flakes or rose petals if you have any left from making my Healthy Pistachio Rose Cookies.
Storage:
Store leftovers (if there are any!) in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. The phyllo crunch will soften slightly, but the flavors will still be delicious.
Equipment Needed:
Here's what you need to make this viral recipe.
- Nonstick Skillet: To toast the phyllo.
- Small Saucepan: To make the ganache.
- Sharp Knife and Cutting Board: To dice the strawberries.
- Spatula or Wooden Spoon: To mix the phyllo with the pistachio butter.
- Whisk: To combine the ganache ingredients until smooth and silky.
- Clear Glass Cups: For serving or a trifle dish for layering can also work.
Recipe FAQs:
Yes, just wait to add the final drizzle of chocolate and pistachios until right before serving for the best texture.
Kataifi or phyllo dough gives this dessert that signature crunch. Made from delicate strands of pastry that look like shredded wheat but behave like phyllo, it's often used in Middle Eastern sweets for its crispy, buttery texture. You can usually find it online or in Mediterranean and international markets. Most Middle Eastern grocery stores carry it also in the frozen section. Thaw before using.
You can try sunflower seed butter or tahini, but this recipe really shines with pistachio butter or pistachio cream.
Well, it's inspired by the viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cups making waves on social media, and probably an adaptation of the Dubai chocolate bar. This dessert is a layered twist with a fresh, homemade spin.
Also, this is a much healthier version with maple crystals (refined sugar-free) and pure pistachio butter from Wilderness Poets, and of course, it's vegan.

Can I make this a day in advance?
Katie says
You could, but I wouldn't recommend. Everything gets a little soggy if it's not served fresh. You could make the individual layers and then assemble them the next day though!
