Creamy Mango Mousse Ingredients:
This creamy mousse is the perfect way to enjoy the delicious flavor of ripe mangoes in unique ways throughout mango season. This recipe features simple ingredients that are equally nutritious and delicious and can be found at your local grocery store or ordered online.
- Fresh Mango - Contributes to the creamy consistency of the mousse and the delicious mango flavor. I recommend using yellow mangoes for the best results. Mangoes are packed with vitamins A, C, and E, which support immune function, skin health, and vision. They also contain digestive enzymes and dietary fiber, promoting healthy digestion and regularity, and are anti-inflammatory.
- Coconut Cream - Adds a rich, creamy texture essential for a smooth mousse. This takes the place of whipped cream and heavy cream found in traditional mousse recipes. Coconut cream is rich in medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which can provide quick energy and support metabolic health. Coconut cream also has antioxidants that help protect cells from damage.
- Pure Maple Syrup - Adds natural sweetness to balance the flavors. You can use any natural liquid sweetener. Pure maple syrup is great because it contains minerals like manganese, zinc, and calcium.
- Vanilla Bean - Adds a deep, aromatic vanilla flavor that complements the mango and coconut. The aroma of vanilla can have calming and mood-enhancing effects, and vanilla bean has anti-inflammatory properties that can benefit overall health.
- Sol-Ti SUPERBOOST SuperShot - Provides an additional boost of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and adds a subtle depth of tropical flavor that enhances the overall taste profile of the mousse. You can find Sol-Ti SuperShots at most grocery stores or easily order them online. If you order them online, make sure to use my code: "NATURALVEGAN" for a discount.

Substitutions:
This easy mango mousse recipe is great because there are plenty of easy and healthy substitutions that can be made to it. Here are some of the common ones.
- Mango - Although I recommend using yellow mangoes (also called champagne mangoes or honey mangoes), any variety of mango will work just fine. You can find many varieties on mangoes on Fruit Hunters.
- Coconut Cream - You can use heavy cream or heavy whipping cream (there are dairy-free options available of both) in place of the coconut cream. If using heavy cream, make sure it is chilled and whipped until soft peaks form. You can also use coconut sweetened condensed milk.
- Vanilla Extract - If you can't get your hands on vanilla bean powder, you can use vanilla extract in its place. Although you can do this, I honestly wouldn't recommend it because it will result in a less creamy texture.
If you have any questions about a particular substitution not listed, leave a comment, and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible!
Delicious Mango Mousse Variations:
There are plenty of quick, easy, and delicious variations that can be made to this creamy mango dessert. Here are some of my favorite variations to make.
- Lemon Mousse - You can add a touch of lemon juice and/or lemon zest to this creamy mango mousse for an added citrus blast of flavor.
- Fresh Fruits - You can mix in or top this creamy mango dessert with fresh mango pieces, fresh berries, or any tropical fruit.
- Cook Dessert - If you are not a fully raw vegan, you can add agar agar (or unflavored gelatin if not vegan or vegetarian) and cook the mixture until thickened. I wouldn't recommend using more than 1 teaspoon to achieve the proper texture. Make sure to chill fully before serving.
- Chocolate - Another way that you can add additional flavor is by melting vegan white chocolate chips and adding to the mango mixture. I would recommend using ½ cup of chocolate chips and allowing the melted chocolate to reach room temperature before mixing with the mango mixture. You can also add white chocolate shavings to the top of the creamy mousse.
What Equipment Do You Need To Make This Vegan Mango Mousse:
This easy recipe is the perfect sweet treat to make because it requires minimal equipment to make, and it's absolutely delicious!
- High-Speed Blender or Food Processor:
- Essential for blending the ingredients into a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Measuring Cups and Spoons:
- Necessary for accurately measuring out your ingredients.
- Spatula:
- Handy for scraping down the sides of the blender or food processor to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- Knife and Cutting Board:
- For chopping and preparing fresh mango and other ingredients.

To keep your raw vegan mango mousse fresh and delicious, follow these storage tips:
- Refrigeration:
- Container: Transfer the mousse into an airtight container or individual serving jars/bowls with lids.
- Cover: If using bowls without lids, cover them tightly with plastic wrap.
- Duration: Store the mousse in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
- Freezing:
- Container: For longer storage, place the mousse in a freezer-safe container.
- Cover: Ensure the container is airtight to prevent freezer burn. You can also place a layer of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the mousse before sealing with a lid.
- Duration: The mousse can be frozen for up to 1 month.
- Thawing: To thaw, transfer the mousse to the refrigerator and let it thaw overnight. Stir gently before serving to restore its creamy texture.
Tips for Best Results:
- Separation: If you notice any separation after storing, stir the mousse to reincorporate the ingredients.
- Freshness: To maintain the best flavor and texture, consume the mousse within the recommended storage times.
- Serving: Serve the mousse chilled for the best taste and consistency. If it’s been frozen, allow it to thaw completely in the refrigerator before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Absolutely! You can prepare the mousse a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. It’s a great make-ahead dessert for gatherings.
The mousse typically sets in about 1-2 hours. For best results, let it chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Yes, you can use frozen mango. Thaw it before blending to achieve a smooth consistency. Frozen mango can add a slightly thicker texture to the mousse. However, frozen mango does not have as sweet of a flavor and, therefore, will result in a less delicious mango mousse.
