These easy frozen immunity cubes are a vibrant mix of immune-boosting ingredients that will keep you feeling your best and keep your body in tip-top shape even during the flu season. Packed with fresh ginger, turmeric, vitamin C, and the superpower of sea moss, these anti-inflammatory immunity cubes are a perfect addition to your daily routine.

I've always taken a proactive and herbal approach to maintaining a healthy immune system, especially during the colder months. And these winter immunity cubes are the ultimate lazy girl recipe for staying on top of your health with minimal effort. Like my Strawberry Banana Sea Moss Smoothie, I am using once again Herbal Vineyards Sea Moss Gel, a powerful superfood that is a complete game changer when it comes to supplementation. This time I'm combining it with other nutritious ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and a boost of vitamin C from fresh lemons and oranges, like in my Kary Perry Erewhon Smoothie.

Immunity Cubes Ingredients:

You only need a few powerful and fresh ingredients to make the best immunity shots, and they are so versatile. Throw them in smoothies or juices, like my Alkaline Green Juice, for extra nourishment, or add them to your favorite mug and pour over a cup of hot water for the best hot drink, especially when you need a little boost or to soothe a sore throat. I'll leave links to my favorite Sea Moss Gel so you can take advantage of my discount code, "allnaturalvegankatie20," to get 20% off.

  • Oranges: Fresh oranges are loaded with vitamin C, helping support immune function and fend off pesky colds. Citrus fruit is a must for an immunity boost, like in my Cold Pressed Golden Mango Juice, or add their citrusy flavors to my healthy Vegan Cranberry Orange Bread.
  • Lemon: Lemon juice is a great way to add more vitamin C and help alkalize the body. I always have some extra lemons at hand, whether to boost my immunity or flavor my vegan recipes, such as my Lemon Poppy Seeds Overnight Oats.
  • Fresh Turmeric: Turmeric contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Fresh turmeric is preferred, like in my Golden Berry Turmeric Bliss Balls, but dried works too!
  • Fresh Ginger: Fresh ginger adds a zesty kick while also supporting digestion and boosting immunity.
  • Herbal Vineyards Sea Moss Gel: Sea Moss is a nutritious ingredient that contains 92 of the 110 minerals our body needs, amongst a whole list of other health benefits. It's a powerhouse for immune support and overall health, and one I highly recommend getting. It will give you a boost of energy while keeping your whole body protected.
  • Pure Maple Syrup: Adds natural sweetness and balances the citrus tang. You can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
  • Pinch of Black Pepper: Black pepper helps improve the absorption of turmeric's curcumin, making it more effective.

See the recipe card for quantities.

How to Make It:

1. Blend: Combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend on high until everything is smooth.

2. Store and Freeze: Pour the mixture into an ice cube tray, filling each compartment evenly. Place in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

3. Enjoy: Whenever needed, pop out a few of these immunity bombs and add to your smoothies, soups, or a cup of hot water to create a soothing hot drink.

Top Tips:

  • Fresh Herbs: If possible, use fresh turmeric and raw ginger for the best flavor and health benefits. But I've included the dried measurements as well just in case you don't have the fresh herbs at hand.
  • Don't Skip the Black Pepper: It helps activate turmeric's powerful properties. You only need a little.
  • Use an Ice Cube Tray with a Silicone Bottom: It makes it easier to remove the cubes once frozen.

Variations and Substitutions:

There are a few things you can swap or substitute in case you prefer it sweeter or don't have something on hand. Let's have a look.

  • Sweetener: Instead of pure maple syrup, you can also use Lumina Powder for extra antioxidants, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. I use it in my Katy Perry Smoothie or in my other Gluten-Free Vegan Baked Goods.
  • Coconut Water: Replace regular water with coconut water for extra hydration and electrolytes. It also makes the immunity cubes sweeter. But skip this if you need to keep it nut-free.
  • Coconut Milk: For a creamier texture, use a cup of coconut milk instead of water. If concerned about nut allergies, you can also use soy milk.

Equipment Needed:

You only need two things to make these amazing frozen immunity cubes.

  • High-Speed Blender: To blend all ingredients smoothly.
  • Ice Cube Tray: An ice-cube tray is essential for freezing the mixture into perfect little cubes.

Storage:

  • Once frozen, store the frozen immunity cubes in an airtight freezer bag or container for up to 3 months.
  • Simply pop one or two into a small glass of hot water or your morning smoothie whenever you need a health boost.

Recipe FAQs:

Can I use dried ginger and turmeric instead of fresh?

Absolutely! If you don't have fresh turmeric or raw ginger, dried works just fine-just be sure to adjust the quantity. I've included them in my recipe card.

What can I use if I don't have sea moss gel?

Sea moss gel is key to making these immunity bombs super nutritious. I highly recommend getting it, and now you can make use of my discount code, "allnaturalvegankatie20," to get 20% off and try them out. There are so many health benefits, too many to mention here. I'll leave a link to my favorite sea moss gel product for more information. But a few of its claims are that it increases energy levels, strengthens the immune system, supports healthy skin and hair, supports a healthy heart, digestive health, and thyroid glands, and contains a fair amount of protein.

How do I use these immunity cubes?

As mentioned before, these cubes are super versatile-add them to smoothies, soups, hot drinks, or even just dissolve them in a cup of hot water. It's just a good way to supplement your body, especially when it needs it most during colder seasons.
